Hip hop has a very broad culture. To start we will teach the fundamental movements of hip-hop and build a strong foundation for our students as we learn and start to choreograph. We will guide them through movement games, challenges, and using their imagination to really balance the mind and body.
We focus on correct alignment and form. We want our students to have a knowledge of how the body moves. Dancers will get to explore creative movement and learn about the great ballets and choreography. We have classes for all skill levels. Starting with the basics then building a vocabulary of positions and combinations while in a fun environment.
Find rhythm and style with confidence! We will develop a solid classic jazz technique with isolations, turns and leaps. At the same time weaving in jazz fusion and commercial dance styes with upbeat music and fun combinations.
Students learn a form of percussion and the fun of creating varied sounds. As they dance their shoes strike the floor and create the rhythm.
We explore the fundamentals of modern dance in an exciting and positive environment. Using traditional warmups, exercises and repertoire from Martha Graham, Paul Taylor and Lester Horton works, students will have the opportunity to try for themselves the unique styles and rich history of modern dance.
We will use our established technique and combine different styles to move freely! By learning combinations and flow sequences we will work on telling stories with movement and develop self expression in a nonjudgmental environment.
